What is e-cigarette?

The manufacturers of e-cigarette claim that it was mainly developed with the intention of helping people who was in desperate need to quit smoking. As already mentioned, e-cigarette is an electronic device which simulates smoking;it looks like a real cigarette;yet, it differs from the tobacco cigarette in many ways as will be seen in the following discussion.

There are several types of e-cigarettes but the most common type has three distinct components.They are
1. Battery
2. The atomizer
3. The refill cartridge

Battery
It's a cylinder that looks like the paper of a cigarette and contains the chargeable battery. The battery contains a flow switch that will automatically turn on the device when inhaled.

The atomizer
It heats up the nicotine liquid inside of the refill cartridge and turn it in to vapor. Once the user takes the puff, the sensor in the e-cigarette detects the flow of air and signals to activate the atomizer. The atomizer allows some drops of liquid nicotine in to the air flow and is converted in to nicotine vapor. This nicotine vapor is inhaled by the user which simulates smoking real cigarettes.

The refill cartridge
It contains the nicotine liquid that is turned into inhaled vapors. The liquid nicotine solution is available in various flavors like banana, strawberry, chocolate, menthol and the traditional tobacco flavor. It is also possible to refill the cartridges.

Besides the above mentioned three components there is the LED which forms part of an e-cigarette. The LED glows and it provides the effect of a burning cigarette. It is available in red and green color.
